What your press gets.
- Your shelf, at postshop.live/shelf/ and your press’s name, with your logo, your colours and a line of your own under your name. Readers can search a longer shelf by title or author.
- A reader page for every book. Buttons that open each store’s own review form; libraries near the reader, through each library’s own request page; independent bookstores near the reader, by email, phone or the store’s website; a reminder to review it later; and a way to send the page to a friend.
- QR codes and print. A QR code for the shelf and for each book, a table sign, and bookmarks to print at home or at a print shop.
- A share picture of your shelf for newsletters and social posts, made from the covers you choose.
- Two running totals on your dashboard: visits to your reader pages, and requests readers made to libraries and bookstores.
- 25% of every subscription that starts through your pages, PostShop Relay or PostShop, paid by the 15th of the following month. How it works.
How it works.
- Sign up below. We email you a link to your dashboard.
- Add your books on your dashboard’s Relay page. Paste a list of ISBNs or upload a spreadsheet and we add the whole list, or add one book at a time by scanning its barcode or typing its ISBN. Then check the covers and the store links.
- We look it over. When your shelf has books by 5 different authors, we review it. One approval opens your shelf, your reader pages and your QR codes, and we email you the address to share.
- Share it wherever your readers already are: the shelf address in your newsletter and on your website, the shelf’s QR code on your table at readings and fairs, a book’s own QR code on a bookmark inside its copies.
You never have to sell.
Every shelf and reader page ends with one line inviting writers to PostShop Relay, which gives an author these same reader pages for their own books. When a writer starts Relay through your pages, your press earns 25% of every payment they make, for as long as they stay subscribed and your account is open. The same 25% applies when they choose PostShop, our full plan, at signup or later.
- 25% of what each subscriber pays, before tax, with no cap on subscribers or on the amount.
- Your authors count, and so does anyone else who reaches PostShop through your shelf, your reader pages or your QR codes.
- A partner link and a partner code of your own, for a writer who signs up later or on another device.
- Paid once a month by direct deposit. Commission on the payments made in one calendar month is paid by the 15th of the next, with a statement. No minimum. We need a W-9 before the first payment.
- Your own press’s subscription never earns commission.
Activity by book, when you want it.
On the free shelf your dashboard shows the two totals. Subscribe your press to Relay from the dashboard, at the price any Relay subscriber pays, and from the day you subscribe it also shows activity by book, the libraries and bookstores readers asked to carry each book, and a report on the 1st. You can move back to the free shelf whenever you choose; your shelf and pages stay open.
Questions.
- Who can sign up?
- A publisher in the United States with books by at least five different authors. We look over every press before its shelf opens.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. The shelf is free for up to 500 books, with no time limit.
- Do our authors need to do anything?
- No. Your press adds the books and runs the shelf. An author who wants the numbers and reports for their own book can start Relay; you can then send your shelf’s readers for that book to the author’s own page with one click, and the visits you send still count in your totals.
- When are we paid?
- Once a month. Commission on every payment your subscribers make in a calendar month is paid by the 15th of the following month, with a statement that lists each payment. A payment made on any day in October is paid by November 15.
- What do we see about readers?
- Counts. We never tell you, or anyone, who a reader is.
- Where do library and bookstore requests work?
- In the United States. Reviews work wherever your readers are.
- Can we leave?
- Yes. Close the account from your dashboard whenever you choose. Your shelf, reader pages and QR codes close with it, and so does commission.
- Where are the full terms?
- Partner Terms, alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
