Writing Program Terms
These Writing Program Terms are an agreement between PostShop, operated by JWJ Writer LLC (“PostShop,” “we,” “us”), and the writing program or writers’ organization that signs up for a writing program shelf (“the writing program,” “you”).
Effective Date: The date you sign up.
Last Updated: October 30, 2026
Section 1How These Terms Fit With Our Other Terms
Your writing program’s account is a PostShop account. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to it. These terms add what is particular to a writing program shelf. Where they differ, these terms govern your shelf.
Section 2What a Writing Program Shelf Is
- A free page that shows the writers you list, each with a short bio and their published books, and a page for each book where readers can review it or ask a library or bookstore to carry it.
- It is free. There is no fee, no contract term and no commission.
- Your shelf opens to the public once we have looked it over. We may decline or withdraw a shelf, and we tell you why.
Section 3Who Appears on Your Shelf
- Only the writers you list appear, and you decide who they are. You confirm that each writer you list is, or was, connected with your writing program as faculty or as a student or graduate.
- No one can add themselves to your shelf.
- You can hide or remove any writer or book at any time.
Section 4Finding Books and Bios
- You provide your writers and their books: each writer’s name and their books’ ISBNs or titles, in the spreadsheet template on your dashboard, on your dashboard, or on your writing program’s alumni-books page. PostShop does not research writers you list without books.
- You authorize PostShop to read your writing program’s website, including pages its robots.txt asks automated readers not to read, to find your writers and their books. You may withdraw this by writing to us; we then follow your robots.txt.
- The books on your shelf are the books you list, in your spreadsheet, on your dashboard or on your writing program’s website. We match each to its edition in public book catalogs and add its cover and store links; anything we cannot match for certain waits for your approval.
- A writer’s bio is copied from the writer’s own website when you list it, with a link to where it came from, or written by you. You can edit any bio unless the writer has written their own on PostShop.
Section 5Headshots and Logos
Headshots are off unless you turn them on. You upload only images you have the right to use on the web for this purpose, and you are responsible for that right. If a writer or rights holder asks us to remove an image, we remove it.
Section 6What You See
You see page views of your shelf and of each writer’s page, and how many times a book was opened from a writer’s page. You do not see reviews, library or bookstore requests, or anything about readers. Those belong to the writers.
Section 7Writers With Their Own PostShop Pages
When a writer on your shelf has their own PostShop reader page for a book, your shelf’s copy of that book opens the writer’s own page, and readers who arrive from your shelf count for the writer. We may tell the writer that their book is on your shelf.
Section 8Placing Your Shelf on Your Website
You may link to your shelf or place it in a frame on your own website using the code on your dashboard. The frame shows only your shelf. It sets no cookies and loads no trackers on your page. We keep the shelf accessible to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we publish an accessibility conformance report on the page for your web team.
Section 9Closing Your Account
You can close your writing program’s account from your dashboard. Your shelf, its pages and the frame stop working. Writers’ own PostShop pages are not affected.
Section 10Changes to These Terms
We tell you by email before a change that takes something away from your shelf. A change that adds something may take effect at once. The date above shows the latest version.
